Karadag Mill

“Our New Turkish Villa”

“Everyone who knows us knows how we love Dalyan and the friends we have made there so when we were given the opportunity to buy another plot of land it was no surprise to them that we decided upon another villa build.”

“The new land is on the edge of the town, 30 minutes walk from the centre but convenient for both taxi and bicycle, and the land is more than 3 times the size as that of Pamuk Tarlasi. The 3,300 m2 of land underneath Karadag Mountain , with its Olive and Eucalyptus trees, will provide privacy and seclusion yet still have convenient access to the town and all of its amenities.”

“At the front of the house we have planted and orchard, cherry, banana, grape, orange, lemon, apricot, fig, apple, pear, peach, lime, pomegranate, It'll take about 3 years for them to bear fruit but when mature will afford excellent privacy for the bar and pool and of course fruit for breakfast and drinks.”

“To the rear of the house under the mountain will be landscaped gardens with a stream and a Turkish style seating pagoda. At the front is a large swimming pool, BBQ, sun bed and bar area which includes a shower and toilet.” Work on the landscaped gardens will progress during the winter months and we hope will be ready for 2009 season. The drawings show these plans.

The village people were saddened by the loss of their young nobleman and they called the mountain 'Karadag Mountain' which means The Dark Mountain although buried under tons of rock the heart of the prince was so pure that the mountain became a friendly place, a home to many animals and insects.
The stream in The Mill at Dark Mountain is a place for fish and ducks to live and welcome the visitors coming from the mountain. The visitors are very shy of humans so they often only visit at night...
